What to Expect

Every Sunday we have Christian Education classes for all ages that begin at 9:30. Our  Songs of Praise and Worship singing starts at 10:25 as people are being seated in the sanctuary. The worship celebration begins at 10:30 and lasts until approximately 11:30.

Common Questions

Is anyone allowed to come to your church?

Everyone is welcome to attend our church! You do not have to be a member and we invite you to be our guest.

How will people be dressed?

Dress is a matter of personal preference and you will find some people dressed in blue jeans and others in dresses and suits.

What type of music is included in your services?

Worship celebrations are planned by a variety a people and music can range from contemporary to more traditional. Each service is likely to include a variety of both. You are likely to hear drums, guitar, and the clavinova in addition to the piano integrated into every service.

Is your church wheelchair accessible?

The church sanctuary and fellowship hall are both wheelchair accessible. There is designated parking at the church for wheelchair use as well as senior citizens.

Do you have a nursery?

During the worship celebration we have nursery service staffed by volunteers available for children 5 years old and younger.

Do you have Sunday school for children?

We have Christian Education classes for children starting at age 2 and continuing up through 5th grade. We also have jr. high, high school youth and adult classes.

A Typical Sunday Morning at AMC

**We offer Third Sunday Breakfast from 8:45-9:15am in our fellowship hall the third Sunday of the month (April-November).
Breakfast is provided so plan to come and enjoy this time before Christian Ed classes begin.
    9:00 a.m. – Mingle with greeters and enjoy a fresh cup of coffee from the Kitchen
    9:30 a.m. – Sunday school begins, also known as “Christian Ed”

Adult classes available:

– For all adults in the Fellowship Hall upstairs. Quarterly Lesson Plans are discussed as a group

Primary classes 

– For ages 2-5 and grades 1-6 in the West basement. They begin with a time of singing, followed by age appropriate small groups

Combined Junior High  & High School Youth

– For grades 6-12. Meets in the Youth House next door to church

         *If you find yourself late for Christian Ed (or early for worship), you are welcome to hang out in the foyer, have some coffee and socialize.

    10:00 a.m. – People will be getting out of classes in about 15 minutes.
    10:15 a.m. – Move toward sanctuary
            Greeters will direct traffic and hand out *bulletins which will lay out the order of service and activities at AMC.
           *Bulletins are also available digitally which can be downloaded using a QR Code. 
    10:25 a.m. – Songs of Praise and Worship begins
           You will hear singing as you enter the sanctuary, but that does not mean you are late. We open each             Sunday morning service with our time of singing together. Feel free to join in when you find your
           spot and follow the words on the screen and/or in our hymnals. 
    10:30 a.m. – Beginning of Service
  It is okay to come in after the service has begun and for comfort, there is also a balcony.
  An usher can seat you or you are welcome to just find an open seat.

  Announcements will start, formally beginning the service, but you are still not late!

  Children are more than welcome in the service. We have buddy bags (activities) available for children’s entertainment. They are located
  in the foyer behind the sanctuary near the balcony stairwell.

  There is a nursery available for children 5 years and younger in the East basement.

    10:40 a.m. – Worship time (refer to the bulletin for service details) 
 
   Our worship time usually involves reciting Words of Worship  together, Children’s Time and/or Special Song or Reading,
   hearing Scripture Readings, and a prayer over our Tithes and Offerings. 
   **no, you still aren’t late. Find a seat and join us!
    11:00 a.m. – Sermon begins
    11:30 a.m. – Sermon ends
A pastor will be available for prayer after the service.
**We enjoy a First Sunday Fellowship Meal after our worship celebration is finished. You are always welcome to join us for this carry-in meal,
even if you didn’t bring a dish to share. There is always plenty for everyone. Plan to join us the first Sunday of every month!
